TFM Midday Update 9-9-2026

CORN

Corn continues lower at midday with December corn down ½ cents at 5.33 and March corn down ¼ cents at 5.48-1/2.
USDA confirms the following U.S. export sale of 182,880 tons of corn to Mexico for delivery in 2026/27.
Crop conditions declined 1% to 56% good to excellent, down from 68% a year ago. The first harvest report of the season showed 5% of the crop harvested, ahead of the 3% average.
Friday’s supply and demand report is expected to put yields at 178.1 BPA, down from 180.7 BPA last month. Dr. Cordonnier also lowered his yield estimate by 1 BPA to 177 BPA.

Soybeans are lower at midday, with weakness across the entire soybean complex. November soybeans are down 4-1/4 cents at 13.11-3/4 and January soybeans are down 4-1/2 cents at 13.27-1/2.
USDA confirms the following U.S. export sales of 340,000 tons of soybeans to China and 100,000 tons of soybeans to unknown for delivery in 2026/27.
Crop conditions were unchanged at 58% good to excellent, compared to 64% a year ago.
Dr. Cordonnier left his U.S. yield estimate unchanged at 51.5 BPA, compared to 52.7 BPA from USDA last month. Friday’s supply and demand report is anticipated to put the yield at 52.4 BPA.

Wheat turned lower at midday after finding modest support overnight following Ukraine’s attacks on Russia. December Chicago wheat is 7-3/4 cents lower at 7.39-1/4 while December Kansas City wheat is down 2-3/4 cents at 8.29-1/4.
Hard red spring wheat harvest is 86% complete, compared to the 83% average. Winter wheat seeding has begun and is 2% complete, compared to the 5% average.
Moisture is expected across the eastern half of Kansas over the next week, while totals in western Kansas and the rest of the Southern Plains are expected to remain light. Producers will need improved moisture conditions for the wheat crop to get off to a good start.
Pakistan announced an import tender for 750,000 tons of wheat, while Saudi Arabia canceled its 535,000-ton tender yesterday due to high prices.
